University of Oklahoma: No evidence of shots fired
Officials at the University of Oklahoma say there's no evidence of shots being fired on the Norman campus after an alert was sent out Wednesday.
The university posted to its website at 11:24 am local time, "shooting on campus. Avoid Gould Hall. Seek immediate shelter in place."
The university is located in Norman, about 20 miles south of Oklahoma City.
Half an hour later, the university posted:
"As of this time, no evidence has been found of any shots being fired. There are no injuries reported at this time. Both the Norman and OU police department have very quickly responded as well as emergency personnel. President Boren is at the scene. Normal campus operations have resumed except for Gould Hall where additional checking is continuing."
