Two teens shot in separate incidents overnight
Two teenagers were grazed by bullets in separate incidents overnight. Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating whether the shootings are related.
IMPD officials say a teenage female suffered a graze wound to the head in the 2900 block of New Jersey Street. Police say it happened about 11:30 p.m. Friday when a bullet entered the home and struck her.
Officers located spent shell casings outside the home.
Then, just before 6 a.m. Saturday morning, IMPD was called to Riley Hospital when a teenage shooting victim showed up. She was also grazed in the head by a bullet.
Investigators say they know little about how she was shot, but believe the teen's mother brought her to the hospital.
Police haven't yet determined if the two shootings might be related.
Both shooting incidents are still under investigation.
