Two men were taken to Wishard Hospital early Friday morning after crashing behind the Marsh story at Rockville and Lynhurst.

Police say the men were in an SUV near the Eight Seconds Saloon on Lynhurst and began driving erratically in the parking lot, spinning tires and "cutting donuts."

An off-duty officer working security at the nearby Marsh got into his car and began driving toward the SUV, when the driver sped off behind the Marsh, bumping a concrete wall, losing control, striking a tree, and flipping the SUV onto its driver's side.

Emergency crews cut both men out of the car.  One was taken to Wishard in critical condition, the other in serious condition.

Because one of the men sustained life-threatening injuries, the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating at the scene.

Police have not identified the men, nor have they determined if the incident will be considered an actual police pursuit.

Alcohol is believed to a factor in the crash.
