Two injured in Indianapolis north side shooting
Two people were seriously injured in a shooting on the Indianapolis north side Wednesday afternoon.
It happened at E. 46th St. and Winthrop. Both victims were talking at the scene but their vital readings were unstable as they were being transported.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment, one of them in serious condition and the other critical.
Police found one of the injured men in the front yard of a home on Winthrop Ave. A second man was discovered in the 4600 block of Carvel, where police believe he ran after being shot.
An IMPD officer provided life-saving first aid to the second man until EMS workers arrived.
So far police have not found the shooting suspect.
During the manhunt, police spotted a person who was wearing clothing similar to the suspect's description. That person was about to walk into a nearby home along with some other people. When the door opened, a dog rushed out and officers shot the animal. The person at that home was determined not to have had any part in the shooting.
