A man is in custody after allegedly injuring two officers in a car crash and then driving away.

Jeremy Marble allegedly hit Officer Sayles and Officer Reddy's car when they were parking to answer a call for service at 40 N. Gladstone near Washington Street on the city's east side around 12:40 Saturday morning. Investigators said he kept driving without stopping to help, heading westbound on Washington Street.

Both of the injured officers were taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. They were both released by 4:00 Saturday afternoon.

Investigators believe Mr. Marble was intoxicated at the time and fled the scene to avoid arrest. However, detectives found and arrested the 28-year-old in a nearby house. His car had damage on its front end, consistent with the hit-and-run.

Marbles is expected to be charged with failure to stop at an accident causing serious bodily injury, operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury and leaving the scene of a crash while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.
