Two dead in northeast Indianapolis shooting
Two people have died in a shooting on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
The shooting happened around 11:20 p.m. in the 9200 block of Beechtree Court, near E. 38th Street and Post Road. Officers at the scene found 21-year-old Terry Hunter and 19-year-old Romello Carney with gunshot wounds inside a red Chevrolet Lumina parked on the street. The passenger side door was open.
Medics pronounced both men dead at the scene.
At last check, police did not know what led to the shooting.
"I don't know why this seems to be the easiest thing to do is pick up a gun, and point it at another human being and pull the trigger and take their life," said Lt. Chris Bailey with IMPD. "I wish I knew what the causes were behind that. I know the police department is doing everything we can to prevent it."
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS or IMPD homicide detectives at 327-3475.
