Two arrested in Gas City murder


Indiana State police are investigating the death of a 29-year-old Gas City woman after they were called in to assist the Gas City police department. 

Two suspects, 23-year-old Tyrell Lenoir and a 17-year-old male both from Marion are being held with bond on preliminary charges of murder and robbery. The car belonging to the victim was found abandon in Marion on Saturday night.

Early indications are that Ashley Rheam was murdered but an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. 

Gas City police were called to the 100 block of East North A Street just after 5:30 Saturday morning when Rheam reported her home had been burglarized. She told police that some electronics were missing and the rear door of the home had allegedly been kicked in. 

Officers took a report and checked the house but no suspects were found. 

Later on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. police were called back to the house when Rheam's roommate came home and found her body. 

Detectives believe that Rheam's white 1993 Cadillac Eldorado with Indiana license plate "In God We Trust" UDL191 was stolen. Anyone seen the who see the vehicle is ask to call 911 and give a location and direction of travel.
