Two air lifted after Shelby County crash

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department are investigating an accident that sent two people to IU Methodist Hospital by Lifeline Helicopter. 

Deputy's were dispatched to State Road 9 and County Road 350 South just after 3 p.m. Saturday for the report of a crash between a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. 

They to find that a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling eastbound on 350 South when it was unable to stop at State Road 9 and struck a 2000 Suzuki Intruder motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 40-year-old man of Shelbyville and his passenger, a 29-year-old woman from Shelbyville were both thrown from the motorcycle.  They were both transported by Lifeline Helicopter in serious condition.  

The 18-year-old man driving the car was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
