Trine offering 4-year graduation guarantee

A college in northeastern Indiana is promising students it will give them a fifth year of tuition free if they don't graduate in four years.

Trine University made the guarantee to its class of 2017, saying the cost of higher education is a top concern for students and their parents.

Incoming freshmen this fall are eligible for the guarantee. Those who wish to participate must sign an application within two weeks of starting fall classes.

To earn the guarantee, students must be full-time students who are committed to earning a degree in no more than four years or eight semesters. An academic adviser will help each student develop a four-year plan.
