DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. — A Plainfield man died Thursday in a crash on Interstate 69 near Muncie.
Troopers responded to the crash around 2:30 p.m. near the exit for SR 28. Police say a Toyota Corolla driven by 41-year-old Kevan McDaniel had crashed into the rear of a semi trailer in the right lane of northbound I-69.
McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to state police, preliminary investigation indicates McDaniel failed to slow down for traffic in a construction zone and was unable to stop before hitting the rear of the semi.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
