Traffic stop turns up counterfeit credit cards
An Indianapolis man is facing felony charges after state police found counterfeit credit cards during a traffic stop.
Halton Kai, 20, was stopped on Interstate 70 in Putnam County for a license plate violation around noon Tuesday. Police say he presented another person's driver's license as his own, "was very nervous and was untruthful in his conversations" with the trooper during the stop. Kai did not have a valid driver's license in his name.
When the trooper received consent to search Kai's vehicle, he found several counterfeit credit and gift cards inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
Kai was taken into custody and is facing charges of forgery, counterfeiting, driving while suspended and false informing.
