Toad the Wet Sprocket get surprised on Kickstarter

Toad The Wet Sprocket found themselves in a bit of a pickle this week when they underestimated their own popularity.

Billboard reports the band used Kickstarter to fund "New Constellation," their first album of new material in 16 years. They set a goal of $50,000 and promised anyone who pledged money would get to hear the album as soon as they reached that goal.

They figured they had 60 days. The goal was reached in less than 24 hours. Toad was on tour and they didn't have the masters or the album art with them.

Singer Glen Phillips says they're a little embarrassed being caught off guard but they're finding solutions. The album will be on sale September 17.
