Tim Berry still on state payroll until replaced
Indiana Republican Party Chairman Tim Berry is still collecting a state paycheck until a new auditor is found to fill his seat.
The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reported Monday that Berry will continue to earn his $75,000 salary until Gov. Mike Pence selects a new auditor.
Pence tapped Berry to run the Republican Party after then-Chairman Eric Holcomb announced his departure along with other top party leaders. Party spokesman Pete Seat said Berry is working in a volunteer capacity for the party until an auditor is selected.
