Thunderstorms prompt warnings in Indiana Thursday

Thunderstorms have begun to pop up in southwestern and south central Indiana at this hour.

Much of central and southern Indiana is at a slight risk for thunderstorms Thursday afternoon.

Quarter-size hail was reported in Fort Branch, Gibson County and in Petersburg, Pike County. Hail lasted for nearly five minutes with wind gusts up to 40 mph in Petersburg.

The biggest threat with these storms is hail and damaging wind over 60 mph. Lightning, heavy rain and localized flooding are also possible. weather tools
