Three tips to a healthier life
We all know that eating right and getting enough exercise are key to staying fit.
But there are three things you can do today to get yourself on the right track to a healthier life.
One is to drink more water.
Water is the elixir of life. It nourishes the body, gives you energy and keeps your joints limber.
"Staying hydrated is a really important thing in your day to day life," said Dr. Assil Saleh. "Because you'll avoid symptoms like headaches, constipation and so-on."
Second, add fiber.
Fiber is good for the digestive system.
Eat more vegetables, fruits and whole grains and you'll immediately feel the benefits.
"If you are constipated, if you have irritable bowel syndrome type symptoms, which are very common these days, then increasing your fiber in your diet could make you feel a lot better," Saleh said.
Thirdly, be on the move.
That doesn't mean run around the block. It could be something as simple as getting up from your desk every hour and walking down the hall.
Studies have shown that those who sit for long periods of time are more likely to develop diabetes, high blood pressure and heard disease than those who move during the day.
These are all good tips that you can do today that will change the way you feel tomorrow.
