Three shot overnight in two incidents

Police are investigating two shootings this morning - one on the near northeast side of Indianapolis late Wednesday night that injured two people - and the second on the east side that left one man wounded in the lower body.

Officers were called to the 2100 block of Carrollton Avenue shortly before midnight on the first reported shooting. They found a victim at the scene who had been shot multiple times in the chest and abdomen.

That victim was taken to Wishard Hospital in critical condition.

While police were on the scene, they discovered another individual who had been shot in the leg. That victim was taken to the hospital in good condition.

The second shooting occurred near East Washington and Bankers Lane and was reported just after 2:45 a.m.  Once victim had run from the suspect after getting shot, and is in a non-life-threatening situation.

Police are still trying to determine a motive and suspects in the shootings. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives at 317-327-3424 or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS.
