Three school bus accidents reported in Indianapolis
Indianapolis Metro Police responded to three separate school bus accidents Thursday morning.
Four students, all of them siblings, were taken to Riley Hospital after hitting their heads on the seat in front of them when their bus was involved in a crash just after 8:00 am at 42nd and Cordell.
They were riding on bus #216 to Indianapolis Public Schools Floro Torrence School 83 when it was rear-ended by another vehicle. The injuries are not believed to be serious. The driver and bus attendant are being evaluated for any injuries.
About half an hour earlier, students on board a Pike Township school bus were a little shaken up after a crash.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of 46th Street and High School Road on the northwest side of Indianapolis. Police tell Eyewitness News that a car rear-ended the school bus.
Eight students were on board the bus at the time of the crash. They were not hurt. One of the drivers was being checked out for minor injuries.
A third accident involving a school bus took place on North Kenwood Ave. around 9:00 am. No serious injuries were reported. There's no word how the accident occurred. The front end of a car was damaged in the accident.
