Three people escaped an early morning house fire on the northeast side Thursday.

Tangi Neville was staying at her in-laws in the 2800 block of N. LaSalle when she woke and found fire in the house shortly before 1:30 a.m.  She woke her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hoskins, and they all escaped.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire inside the one story residence, and were able to bring the fire under control within 25 minutes of their arrival.

No injuries were reported. Two dogs, nine puppies and a cat were okay, as well.

The fire did an estimated $40,000 in damage.

The cause is under investigation. Neville reported that they were having several electrical issues with the home recently.
