There's a record-breaking crowd in Indy this weekend competing in the Pokemon U.S. National Championship.

More than 2,000 young people are battling it out through Pokemon trading cards or Pokemon video games. They're competing for a spot in the world championship next month. This is the fifth time Indianapolis has hosted the competition. Organizers said that's for a very specific reason.

"It's a great city for families. It's centrally-located in the U.S. and we've loved being here," said Rob Novickas with the Pokemon Company International. "Indianapolis has been a great host. The Indiana Convention Center has been a great host and we love coming back year after year."

Players from all 50 states are in this competition, which wraps up downtown Sunday.
