A 17-year-old boy suffered burns to his feet as he tried to stomp out a house fire in the 3700 block of Drexel Avenue on the southeast side overnight.

Firefighters were called to the single-story house near Southeastern and Emerson just after 2:45 a.m. Monday.

IFD spokesperson Capt. Rita Reith told Eyewitness News at the scene that electricity had been turned off to the house and the teen was using a wood burning stove to keep warm.
