Police say a teenager driving a stolen car crashed into the garage of a home on the Indianapolis west side.

Metro Police were pursuing a 2009 Chevy Cavalier that had been stolen when it was left with the engine running. When the suspect turned down an icy road, the officer stopped the chase. But the driver kept on speeding through the neighborhood and lost control, crashing into a garage and causing damage to a 2012 Dodge mini van parked in the driveway.

The location is in the 1800 block of North Warman. That's just to the west of Lafayette Road not far from 16th Street.

No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $8,000.

The Indianapolis Fire Department Structural Collapse Team was evaluating the stability of the structure, and had to shore the garage to stabilize it. No one was home at the time and IMPD was still trying to contact the homeowner.

One teenager was arrested in connection with the incident.
