BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WTHR) - Thursday night's action by the United States in Syria is having a ripple effect around the world, even at Indiana University in Bloomington.

We spoke with a Syrian mother worried about her extended family and her country.

Iman Alramadan teaches Arabic at IU. She is now raising her two children here in America, but we asked her Friday how she felt when she saw what transpired Thursday. The response she gave us was one seen through the eyes of her nine-year-old son.

"He turned the tv on and saw that the US attacked and everything and he told me, nine years old, finally something happened and it should have happened a long time ago,"Alramadan said. "So we need to stop all the people suffering there."

We also asked Alramadan is she was surprised at how President Trump reacted.

"I was at the same time I don't know what will happen next, so is it only today, tomorrow or when?"
