Suspects in clothing store shooting make first court appearance
Two suspects accused in a deadly shooting at an Indianapolis clothing store appeared before a judge Wednesday for the first time.
Deaundre Graves, 18, and Jeffrey Rhodes, 17, were arrested for robbery and the murder of 36-year-old Ho Lee. Rhodes was charged as an adult.
On Wednesday, botth teenagers were formally charged with murder.
Marion County Prosecutors Office spokeswoman Peg McLeish says Rhodes was charged as an adult despite his age. Both men also face robbery and firearms charges.
Lee was shot in the head Sunday at the 'Body Gear' store near 38th and Rural Streets on the northeast side, according to police. He later died in surgery.
Investigators said a group of people went into the store and started stealing merchandise when they were confronted by Lee and shots were fired. Police are still looking for up to four more suspects. Investigators believe that Graves was the shooter.
It wasn't clear whether a woman who also was shot Sunday remains hospitalized.
Funeral services for Lee will be held Saturday in Indianapolis.
