Sunny today to storm chances Thursday night
Some of the best weather across the country is arguably in central Indiana today… albeit slightly cooler than normal. After a frosty start for some, we’re enjoying a blue sky and highs that will near 60 degrees this afternoon.
Some high cloud cover will increase this evening and some light rain can’t be ruled out near the Illinois state line before midnight.
Most areas stay dry until tomorrow night, however much of Thursday will be rain-free. Highs tomorrow will be warmer and near 70 degrees by 5pm. Rain and thunder will become widespread by 10pm Thursday as a cool front arrives. We don’t anticipate any severe weather though local downpours and lightning are likely.
Rain should depart by midday Friday and pave the way for a pleasant finish to the week… with highs in the 70s. Humid heat creeps in for the weekend, and highs may be well in the 70s Saturday and possibly Sunday too depending on cloud cover. The humid air will be a catalyst in delivering heavy rain totals early next week.
It should also be noted long range model guidance suggests a cooler than normal start to May. Stay tuned and have a great afternoon.
