Sun rallies from 16-point deficit to beat Fever
The Connecticut Sun rallied from a 16-point deficit to defeat the Indiana Fever Thursday night.
Tina Charles led the Sun with 22 points and 12 rebounds in the 74-60 win, snapping a three-game losing streak. The Fever was playing with just eight players, due to the absence of Tamika Catchings and Erin Phillips.
It was the third time the Fever surrendered a 16-point second-half lead this season. The Sun scored 15 straight points to start the fourth quarter, then took the lead for good with 50 seconds left.
"On the road and with just eight people, you have to do the little things right," said Fever coach Lin Dunn. "I thought we wore out, especially in the last five minutes. They had some fresh bodies and Bass and White really hurt us late."
Former Fever star Tan White scored seven of her ten points in the fourth quarter for the Sun.
Shavonte Zellous led Indiana with 20 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Indianapolis native Kelly Faris had three points and three rebounds for Connecticut.
