Storm chances return Memorial Day afternoon
What an amazing finish to the Indianapolis 500 and to Sunday afternoon. Much of central Indiana enjoyed a nearly perfect sunny day.
However, a band of clouds occasionally produced sprinkles and light showers across southern Indiana. This feature will continue to weaken as upper level high pressure spreads across the region.
A quiet, mild night is on tap with lows near 60 Monday morning. The first half of Memorial Day will be worry free of any precipitation. However, daytime heating and an increase in low-level moisture may be enough to set off isolated showers and rumbles of thunder… though 70% of the area stays dry in the afternoon.
Coverage will increase after 5pm and be at a maximum by 10pm. The chance will require you to check the radar if you’re barbecuing or swimming tomorrow.
There will be a daily chance of showers and storms into Thursday, before all signs point toward another warm/dry weekend next Saturday and Sunday.
