State will grant waivers for schools that cancel classes
Schools forced to cancel classes due to winter weather this week will not have to make up the days, the state says.
The Indiana Department of Education says schools that canceled classes Monday and Tuesday will not have to make up those days.@Each district must ask the state for a waiver, but a DOE spokesperson tells Eyewitness News it will be granted.
The department sent a note to schools Sunday explaining the plan and sent another note Monday with the same information about Tuesday.
