Southeast side business owner injured in robbery and fire

A husband and wife were both transported to Eskenazi Hospital Sunday morning after their business was robbed at gunpoint and set on fire.

According to owner, sometime after 10 am, two black males entered the store through the front door, carrying firearms, pointed the gun at the owners head and demanded money from him. His wife was asleep in the back room. The owner stated he turned over the money to the two men. 
It is unclear how the fire started but believed to have occurred during the altercation. According to the owner, the men exited the building out the rear door. 

The husband is in serious condition and his wife is in good condition. Both were able to give firefighters some preliminary information prior to transport.

The owner and his wife evacuated the structure. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze keeping it from extending up into the roof area. No firefighters were injured.
