Slick roads contributing factor in IMPD officer crash

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - An IMPD officer is recovering from slight injuries after crashing his patrol car on the city's north side.

The crash happened on Township Line Road near the bridge over I-465 around two o'clock Wednesday morning.

Police say the officer was responding to a run with lights and sirens when he lost control of his car and hit a guardrail.

Police say the bridge was very slick at the time of the crash.

The officer went to Methodist Hospital with what officers say are bumps and bruises.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
