Singer Reg Presley of The Troggs is being remembered for influencing hundreds of garage bands -- and for a notorious underground recording.

The Troggs' "Wild Thing" became a staple for garage rock. Their other big hit in the U.S. was "Love Is All Around." A tape of The Troggs in the studio swearing up a storm became a cult phenomenon as "The Trogg Tapes."

Presley also had a big interest in crop circles and UFOs and even wrote a book about aliens and government conspiracies called "Wild Things They Don't Tell Us."

Presley died Monday at his home west of London after several strokes. He was 71.
