Shoppers are being allowed to return to three Westfield stores after a gas leak led to an evacuation Monday night.

Police and fire crews are investigating the reported leak, which was reported around 9 p.m. Monday at the Village Park Plaza on East Greyhound Pass. Investigators discovered the source of the leak was a ruptured pipe behind Walmart.

Rack Room Shoes and Five Below were also evacuated due to the leak. Employees at Rack Room Shoes smelled the gas odor and called 911 before evacuating. About 100 people were evacuated during the leak.

There were no injuries reported during the leak.

A witness tells Eyewitness News she was in Walmart with her children when the shoppers were told to leave their carts and evacuate the store. She said the "whole parking lot reeked with fumes" and one of her children was complaining of a headache.

A crew from Vectren capped the leak around 9:45 p.m. and shoppers were allowed to return to the stores.
