Shooting victims turn up at Community East Hospital
Police say two people were injured, one fatally, in a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis Wednesday night.
The shooting was reported around 9:20 p.m. in the area near 1600 block of North Gale Street. The two victims were taken to Community East Hospital before police arrived at the scene.
Both victims are adult males. One of the men died of his injuries at Community East, the other remains in good condition.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Police have placed yellow crime tape around a vehicle outside the emergency entrance at Community East. Officers found several shell casings in the middle of the street in the 2600 block of Brookside Avenue.
Detectives continue to search for possible witnesses in the area of the shooting.
