Shelbyville Police want you to take a look at a sketch of a suspect wanted in connection with sexually assaulting a woman on Sunday.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 25 to 30 years of age. He has a pale to pasty complexion, lanky and is approximately 5'6 to 5'11 in height. The suspect has a medium build and dark brown hair.

Police say the man savagely attacked a 21-year-old woman in broad daylight.

"Makes me not want my kid to be out and too far," said Amy Good.

The man was last seen wearing a dark gray or blue T-shirt with cut-off sleeves. He had on dark blue pants that could have been a work style pant. His clothes were described as dirty and soiled. The suspect was described as being unclean and smelled dirty or oily.

Shelbyville resident Chris Balzen said he had never seen anyone close to the description given by police in the neighborhood. His first concern was for the safety and security of his family and said he is a little on edge, knowing that such violence happened so close to his house.

Balzen took a picture of the composite drawing of the suspect to post on his Facebook page. Police say the more people that see his face, the better.

"If you are outside and if you are alone, make sure you watch your surroundings," said Shelbyville Police Lt. Michael Turner.

If you think you've seen this man, do not confront him. Call the Shelbyville Police Department at (317) 392-2511. Information may also be sent to Detective Jason Brown at (317) 392-5118.
