Seventh tort claim filed in State Fair stage collapse

INDIANAPOLIS - Another person injured in the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair Aug. 13th has filed a tort claim with the Indiana attorney general's office.

A tort claim is the first step towards seeking compensation for a loss.

Eyewitness News obtained documents that show Stephanie Murry of Indianapolis filed the claim. Murry says she was knocked unconscious after being struck in the head by falling metal and had to be hospitalized. In her claim, she states that she has suffered severe head pain and nightmares. Murry also said she lost $750 that she was carrying in her purse that night.

The attorney general's office says seven such tort claim notices have been filed in connection with the Indiana State Fair incident.

In another development, the State Fair Commission announced a 1:00 pm news conference to discuss plans moving forward for the Indiana State Fair Remembrance Fund. State Fair Commission Chairman Andre Lacy will conduct the news conference.
