A sentencing hearing began Monday for the Indiana man who pleaded guilty to a series of murders uncovered in 2012.

William Gibson of New Albany pleaded guilty to killing Stephanie Kirk and said she was the third person he murdered. He also pleaded guilty last year to murdering Christine Whitis and Karen Hodella.

He led police to Kirk's body buried in his yard.

This hearing is expected to last until the end of the week -- and the judge could hand down a sentence by the middle of next month.
