Semi hits I-70 bridge in western Indiana, snarling traffic
Some lanes of Interstate 70 in western Indiana were closed for hours after a semitrailer crashed into a bridge.
Police say the eastbound semi carrying a load of tomatoes crashed about 3 a.m. Friday in a rural area near the Clay-Putnam County line about 20 miles east of Terre Haute. The crash left debris strewn across the highway, but no injuries were reported.
Traffic was diverted from the eastbound lanes at I-70's interchange with Indiana 59 into the city of Brazil until the highway reopened late morning.
