Security video shows suspects in May 21 murder
Police have released security video of three men wanted in a murder last month.
Investigators say the video shows three men wanted in the May 21 shooting death of Jason Lacey at his home at 35th Street and Sherman Drive. The men can be seen walking around Lacey's home just after midnight. Police say one of the men made some noise to lure Lacey out of the house.
Lacey told his girlfriend, Ashley Bailey, to stay inside.
A second home security camera recorded the men walking to another side of the house. One of the men can be seen carrying a long rifle-type weapon.
Police say the men ambushed Lacey when he came outside to investigate the noise.
"He went outside, a minute later, literally, it was just gunshots," Bailey said. "Everybody loved him and for somebody to come do this, it's just wrong. It's really wrong."
Lacey's mother hopes someone can help identify her son's killers.
"Somebody else killed him and another family is going to go through the grief that I am going through and I do not want that. But I want them put away. I want them put away for life where they have to think about it every day and when they close their eyes they see what they did," Brigette Lacey said.
After the shooting, Lacey collapsed in front of the house, while his killers took off. Both his mother and girlfriend have little hope of them surrendering, making the security video more important.
"When these pictures and video gets on the news that people will recognize them and come forward and talk," said Bailey.
The same video shows not only cars, but a possible witness walking past the suspects lurking on the side of Lacey's house.
The victim's mother says until her son's killers are caught, she agrees with police that everyone should consider them extremely dangerous.
"I want justice," she said.
