The Indiana High School Athletic Association meets Tuesday afternoon to address Friday's football brawl between Arsenal Tech and Fort Wayne South Side.

The fight broke out at Tech's stadium at the end of the third quarter after a Tech player was tackled out of bounds. Players from both teams came off the benches, along with a couple of coaches who threw punches.

IHSAA spokesman Chris Kaufman says administrators from both schools will review footage and discuss what happened. Kaufman said he doesn't expect a ruling to be announced until Wednesday.

He said IHSAA has the ability to suspend the coaches (through the administrators), suspend the season for the teams, or remove them from any tournament play.

IHSAA will also decide whether Friday's game will even count. Tech was ahead 24-6 when the game was suspended.

Tech's head coach Emil Ekiyor has already suspended the assistant coach involved in the fight for the rest of the season.

"We cannot excuse that if it was provoked or not provoked, especially by an's not something we teach or condone. There will be some consequences from us and the IHSAA and we accept those consequences," Ekiyor told Eyewitness News.
