Scattered storms this afternoon
A slow moving system will keep several chances of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast this weekend. It will be cloudy and humid today with widely spread storms developing this afternoon through the evening. Many areas will remain dry, but those areas that do receive rain, could see some heavy downpours.
Because of the cloud cover, temperatures will stay a few degrees below the average of 85 degrees.
Thunderstorms will taper off this evening but it could impact the concert at Klipsch Music Center this evening. Be sure to have the SkyTrak13 Weather app on your phone to track any storms. It looks like we should avoid severe storms but lightning is possible. Please seek shelter if caught out on the lawn tonight during a storm. It will stay mild and muggy tonight with a low near 70 degrees.
There is a better chance of scattered storms on Sunday, once again the best timing being afternoon and evening. Highs will climb into the mid 80s with breezy winds out of the southwest from 10 to 15 mph.
We may hit our first 90 temperature on Monday. A cold front will push in late Monday night, bringing the chance of more organized thunderstorms. A strong or severe storm will be possible into Tuesday morning.
Cooler and drier air will start to arrive behind the cold front by Wednesday.
Right now, the 4th of July looks great as high pressure provides a quiet and tranquil pattern.
