Robber shoots Kokomo Village Pantry clerk in face

A 51-year-old Village Pantry employee was shot in the face during a robbery early Monday morning in Kokomo.

It happened around 2:00 am at the Village Pantry at 1515 W. Lincoln Road.

Officers found the clerk suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. They reviewed surveillance video which showed a lone suspect entering the store with a handgun, shooting the clerk and leaving on foot after taking cash from the register.

The suspect is described as a white male, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, light colored jeans, dark shoes, dark ski mask, and black gloves with white colored writing.

The clerk was transported by ambulance to Howard Regional Hospital and then later airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis where he is listed in stable condition.
