People on a California roller coaster had some scary moments after getting stuck for hours when their train hit a tree on the track.

A tree landed on the "Ninja Coaster" at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, Calif. Nearly two dozens riders were left dangling in the air for hours while crews tried to get them down.

"A pine tree fell and it fell across the tracks of the Ninja ride," explained Inspector Rick Flores with the LA County Fire Department. "The car came around the corner and hit the tree."

The front car of the ride actually derailed, though officials don't know how far off the rails it went. At least two people from that car were injured in the accident.

The ride will remain closed pending a full investigation of the machinery and the area.
