Police say a Richmond teenager found dead in an alley died of blunt force trauma.

Richmond Police Department Capt. James Branum tells The Palladium-Item that 17-year-old Caleb Woosley was beaten to death.

An autopsy was conducted Tuesday.

Branum has said a passerby spotted the youth's body in an alley on the north side of Richmond on Sunday morning. There was no evidence of gunshot or stab wounds

Police say Woosley had recently moved to Richmond from West College Corner, located about 20 miles to the south.

Richmond is about 65 miles east of Indianapolis.
