Several news reports say the Pacers are close to sealing a three-year deal with forward David West.

Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo NBA columnist and Sports/NBA insider for NBC Sports, reports that the contract is for $36 million.

West was a key player for the Pacers during the 2012-2013 season, with 17 points per game and 7.7 rebounds. He's no doubt part of the reason the Pacers took the Miami Heat to seven games in the Eastern Conference finals.

On Sunday, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert urged team management to re-sign David West.

Hibbert tweeted, "Hope the @Pacers give @D_West30 everything he wants 2night at midnite. Get his deal done 1st no messing around. He means a lot to this team!"

West became a free agent as of midnight July 1. Last week, Pacers team president Larry Bird said signing West is the club's number one priority during the off season.
