A referee collapsed during a boys' sectional basketball tournament game at Center Grove High School Friday.

A dispatcher with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department confirmed officers assisted medical personnel on a run to the high school. The dispatcher said the patient was a male basketball referee.

According to the dispatcher, the man was conscious and alert throughout his treatment and was taken to Community South Hospital.

Franklin defeated Greenwood 48-38 in the game, which was delayed several minutes while medics tended to the fallen official.
