Rapping Brian Williams returns to "Tonight Show"
Fallon introduced the latest rap mashup featuring NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams Monday night. Through intense editing, the news host raps his way through Snoop Dogg's hit "Gin and Juice."
Williams' NBC colleagues Lester Holt, Natalie Morales, Kate Snow and Richard Engel also join the tune, which was the original profanity-laced edit of the song. It was partially cleaned up with a little more editing.
The video is the latest in a series of rap mashups featuring Williams. Previous entries have included the iconic "Rapper's Delight," "Bust A Move," and "Regulate."
Williams was later a guest on the show, where he tried to put to rest rumors that he's behind the project.
"I've never said 'hippity'," Williams said.
But despite insisting he isn't helping on the bits, he related a story that Cuba Gooding Jr. told him the mashups have made him a star away from the news desk.
"He said, 'You are a huge figure in the rap and hip-hop communities'," he said.
Williams went on to suggest he works with Fallon on future raps, including Foxy Brown and Ludacris.
"I'll do Luda," he said. "I'll do 'Roll Out.'"
He even gave credit to his co-stars.
"I had reservations about Lester. It's because of his flow," Williams said.
Fallon later revealed the raps are the work of an editor named John McDonald.
