Indianapolis - The Marion County Prosecutor Office's public information officer, Mario Massillamany, is resigning from his job following an OWI arrest.

The prosecutor's office says it accepts the resignation in light of "recent matters surrounding the employee's personal activities."

The resignation is effective immediately.

Massillamany was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving early Saturday.

He was stopped by Fishers Police around 2 a.m. Saturday at 116th and Arbor Glen for driving 71 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone and driving left of center. After being stopped, the officer reported Massillamany's eyes were "bloodshot and watery" and his speech was "slurred and repetitive."

According to the police report, Massillamany failed five separate field sobriety tests administered by the officer and refused a chemical test at the scene. A warrant was obtained for a blood draw, which will be analyzed to determine blood-alcohol content.
