The Martinsville school district is investigating a principal arrested by police for driving an ATV while under the influence of alcohol.

Officers took Central Elementary School Principal Peter Jochim to the Johnson County Jail Friday night. Jochim drove a four-wheeler in Morgantown and made a sharp turn, causing his passenger to fall, according to police.

That passenger is an aide at the school and is now in the hospital with a head injury.

The district said it's "fully cooperating with authorities" and that it will "take appropriate action based upon the investigations."
