Police: Speck Mellencamp arrested after fight in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON (WTHR) - Speck Mellencamp, the 22-year-old son of John Mellencamp, was arrested by Bloomington Police Sunday morning on preliminary charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.

Bloomington Police say Speck and his brother Hud were involved in a fight near the Jimmy John's at Kirkwood and Dunn.

Police say Speck had blood on his face but would not provide information about his injuries.

Police say Speck was belligerent and uncooperative with officers and medical personnel trying to treat him at the scene and at the hospital.

Hud Mellencamp told police the fight began after a group of guys started yelling at the Mellencamps.

Police released Hud from the scene.
