Police seek suspect in Southern Plaza bank robbery

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a bank on the south side of Indianapolis Monday.

Detectives say the suspect entered the PNC Bank at 4030 South East Street, near the Southern Plaza Shopping Center, shortly after noon Monday and demanded money, claiming he had a gun. The teller handed over an undetermined amount of money and the suspect fled the bank.

Witnesses say the man sped away from the bank in a blue four-door car, headed west on Hanna Avenue.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s/early 30s with a slender build and light brown hair. He was wearing a yellow heavy nylon coat that extended well below his waist, a brown flannel shirt, a white crew neck t-shirt and blue jeans.

Police urge anyone with information about the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS or text "INDYCS" plus tip information to 274627 (CRIMES).
