Police say a 69-year-old Lafayette man is responsible for at least two bank robberies in Marion, and may be responsible for similar robberies in Kokomo and Anderson as well.

Marion Police arrested Alva Oliver Funk of Lafayette. They say he robbed two banks in Marion, a Regions Bank on Kem Road in January and a Star Financial Bank on South Western Avenue in April.

Funk is charged with two counts of robbery in Marion and is being held at the Grant County Jail with a $50,000.00 cash bond.

Funk is currently on Parole after being released from the Department of Corrections in June 2012, where he served time after being sentenced in 1993 for Intimidation, Resisting law Enforcement and Habitual Criminal out of Tippecanoe County.

This investigation is a combined effort of the Marion Police Department, Grant County Sheriff Department, Kokomo Police Department, Anderson Police Department, Indiana State Police, FBI, Indiana DOC Parole Agents, and the Lafayette Police Department.
